Breccia Pernice is quarried in central Italy — a brecciated marble with angular cream and taupe fragments set into a warm honey field, threaded with sienna and burgundy vein work. It reads as a layered, geological stone rather than a clean veined marble; closer to a Brèche de Vendôme than to a Calacatta in temperament.
“The matte surface keeps the warm field grounded and lets the fragment edges read as composition rather than glare.”
Honed. The matte surface keeps the warm field grounded and lets the fragment edges read as composition rather than glare. Polish on this material pushes it loud; honed lets it sit as the warm anchor of a room rather than as a showpiece. It pairs well with rift oak, walnut, unlacquered brass, and warm-white paint.
78″ × 115″ in 2cm, single-slab supply. Brecciated stones vary widely block to block — walk this one in person before specifying.
