2cm Antolini Emperador Dark YG820 honed marble slab, 70 by 118 inches, deep espresso-brown field with fine caramel and bronze veining and bright white calcite inclusions, lifted by crane against a red brick wall at Royal Stone in Los Angeles

Emperador Dark is a dense brown marble with a fine, web-like vein structure — deep espresso ground crossed by caramel and bronze threads, with occasional lighter inclusions. The YG820 cut keeps the field consistently saturated rather than patchy, which is the main grading split in this material.

The matte surface lets the bronze veining sit in rather than glint off, and the dark field becomes a calm anchor rather than a reflective showpiece.
From the slab arrival, 2024

Honed reads warmer and quieter than polished. The matte surface lets the bronze veining sit in rather than glint off, and the dark field becomes a calm anchor rather than a reflective showpiece. It pairs cleanly with rift oak, walnut, unlacquered brass, and warm-white paint — the design grammar of the warmer end of contemporary LA interiors.

70″ × 118″ in 2cm, currently in the yard. Dark marbles photograph cooler than they read in person; walk the slab in daylight before specifying.
