Black Fill is a vein-cut Italian travertine where the natural cavities and pores are filled with black resin rather than the usual matched beige. The contrast is the point: a warm cream-to-tan field crossed by sharp black linework that traces the original sedimentary layering. It reads more graphic than a standard filled travertine without losing the warmth of the base stone.
“The fill also tightens the surface, so it takes a honed or polished finish cleanly and holds up better in high-touch applications than an open-pore travertine.”
The fill also tightens the surface, so it takes a honed or polished finish cleanly and holds up better in high-touch applications than an open-pore travertine. We've placed it as fireplace surrounds, vanity tops, and full-slab feature walls — the linear contrast wants horizontal runs and bookmatched pairs.
Antolini cuts this material in all the standard finishes, and we keep a working set in the yard. Walk the slab in person to see how the black fill reads against your cabinetry and metal before you specify.
