ABK is one of the long-established Sassuolo porcelain houses — a mill that has spent thirty years turning the look of Italian travertine and marble into vitrified, full-bodied panels that lay up the way the original stones cannot. Navona Bone in the vein-cut 3D honed finish is the studio's answer to the warm cream Navona travertine block: the same horizontal banding, the same quiet mineral warmth, but engineered as a 1.2 cm porcelain panel that holds a honed face without sealing or filling and never etches under citrus.
Vein-cut means the block is sawn against bed, the way travertine has been cut at Navona for centuries — so the long pale bands read as continuous striations across the face of every slab instead of the cloud and blossom of a cross-cut. 3D honed adds a tactile relief along those bands: a controlled surface variation that catches raking light the way a honed travertine would, without the pitting and filler that travertine normally requires.

Format is 63" × 126" (roughly 160 × 320 cm) at 1.2 cm gauge — the architectural size for kitchen islands, full-height shower walls, fireplace surrounds, and outdoor kitchens. Through-body construction means a mitered edge shows the same Navona Band-Neutral field on the corner, not the porcelain biscuit underneath. The panel is non-porous, UV-stable, and freeze-thaw rated, which is why it travels from interior island faces to exterior cladding to outdoor kitchen work without a change in specification.
The installed reference shown above is a recent outdoor kitchen — an island clad in 1.2 cm ABK Navona Bone vein-cut 3D honed porcelain with a fully rounded curved end and a continuous waterfall to the ground, lit in evening light so the long horizontal banding reads across both the vertical face and the rounded shoulder. The same field wraps back to the BBQ-side fascia and the prep-side return, with mitred corners showing continuous banding across the change of plane. It is the kind of piece that benefits from being walked in person: photographs flatten the 3D honed relief, and the difference between the panel in yard daylight and on a finished outdoor island is a meaningful part of the specification decision.
On the floor at 2303 South Sepulveda. The 63" × 126" ABK Navona Bone vein-cut 3D honed panels are stocked now in the yard alongside the rest of the Italian large-format program — ABK Statuario, ABK Calacatta Gold, the Antolini and Xtone marbles, the vein-cut travertine looks from Mediterraneo and Materia. Walk Navona Bone in daylight, take a sample, and we'll quote from current inventory. Designers and architects working in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu — call the yard to arrange a viewing.
